The Palace of Beiteddine Beiteddine:

About 40 km southeast of Beirut, boasts the imposing palace of Beiteddine. It was built during the 18th and 19th centuries. A perfect example of classic Lebanese architecture of the time. It has richly decorated ceilings, colorful mosaic floors, luxurious Turkish baths with numerous glass-studded cupolas, harem suites overlooking the valley of Deir al-Qamar, a guest house in which the French poet Lamartine once dwelt, water jets and colonnades, a folkloric museum displaying costumes, jewelry and weapons of that era, as well as a newly-established museum displaying mosaic of the Byzantine era.
