According to the Lebanese Higher Relief Council (HRC), a total of 15,000 housing units were destroyed across Lebanon during the July 2006 War (a.k.a. Second Lebanon War). In Haret Hreik, a Beirut's Southern Suburb area, 2,500 housing units were destroyed and a further 5,000 were damaged.
