
BEITEDDINE, LEBANON

About 40 km southeast of Beirut, boasts the imposing palace of
Beiteddine. It was built during the 18th and 19th centuries. A perfect
example of classic Lebanese architecture of the time. It has richly
decorated ceilings, colorful mosaic floors, luxurious Turkish baths
with numerous glass-studded cupolas, harem suites overlooking the
valley of Deir al-Qamar.
